Slipknot’s guitarist, Jim Root, has revealed that the future of the band is unsure at this time — after bassist Paul Gray died of an overdose in May.

In a recent interview with SonishphereFestivals.com, Root disclosed that it was “the furthest thing from our mind”.

Obviously “there’s going to be a big healing process that needs to happen before we even think about whether or not Slipknot will continue,” he answered. “And right now that’s the furthest thing from our mind.”

He included: “Right now we are just grieving or trying to find time to grieve anyway for the fact that our bro’s gone. It’s weird because some days I don’t even think it’s real, so that one’s not going to make sense for a while.”

Soon to be released (on September 6th) is a new Stone Sour album titled “Audio Secrecy” with Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor. Jim Root did say that it would be “probably two years at least” before the band got back together.
