On December 8th, 2004, one of metals premier guitarists was murdered. Pantera guitarist, Dimebag Darrell was mourned around the world. Five years after his death, some of Metal’s biggest names will gather to release a CD in his honor. The album will be packaged with the 200th issue of U.K.’s Metal Hammer magazine, and will include names like Zakk Wylde, Machine Head, Avanged Sevenfold, and Five Finger Death Punch.

Black Label Society has pulled out of the remaining dates of the “Pedal To The Metal Tour” because of Wylde’s condition but the tour will soldier on, with the remaining bands (Mudvayne, Static-X, Suicide Silence, and Bury Your Dead) performing as previously scheduled

Ozzy’s official web site has been updated with a new announcement – an announcement which basically denies that, BLS Guitarist, Zakk Wylde will be leaving the band permanently and replaced by Gus G of Firewind. According to the announcement, the 28 year-old guitarist was only taking the stage for a one-time gig at Blizzcon 2009, nothing more.

Gus G of Firewind is officially Ozzy’s new guitarist. Zakk Wylde must have been bewildered when Ozzy informed Zakk that he was fired via a public interview. Well, maybe not.
Osbourne revealed in July 2009 that he was currently seeking a new guitar player. While Ozzy states that he has not had a fall out with Zakk Wylde, he stated that he felt his songs were beginning to sound like Black Label Society [BLS] and fancied a change.
