Who loves drama? Courtney loves drama. Over the past few weeks music fans have shown their distaste for the use of Kurt Cobain as a character in Guitar Hero 5. Although Courtney Love was originally behind it, she has decided to switch sides. Really? Why?

Courtney stated on her Twitter page that she is planning to sue Activision.

“For the record this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bully’s part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction,” says Love.

“WE are going to sue the shit out of Activision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises.”

But wait, there’s more?!

Activision responded [vaguely] to the protest stating Courtney Love had signed a written agreement and that the other two members of Nirvana, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl, have no say in regards to the use of Kurt’s likeness.

In a statement issued yesterday, however, Grohl and Novoselic say they are “dismayed and very disappointed in the way a facsimile of Kurt is used in the Guitar Hero game,” adding, “The name and likeness of Kurt Cobain are the sole property of his estate — we have no control whatsoever in that area.” The pair ask Activision to “re-lock” the Cobain character and state, “It’s hard to watch an image of Kurt pantomiming other artists’ music alongside cartoon characters. Kurt Cobain wrote songs that hold a lot of meaning to people all over the world. We feel he deserves better.”

Some media outlets have speculated that Love’s actions come after certain videos of the Kurt Cobain character were released. Since the character can be used for any song in the video game, there have been videos posted of the likeness singing tracks like Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name”.

But I think we all know this boils down to GREED on Courtney’s part.
