Seventh Vail is a four piece wrecking ball of energy from Northern Virginia. Founding members Camden Unglesbee and JC formed with Alex Vinny and Ken Barber in the summer of 2009. After only playing a handful of local shows immediate public notice began to follow as the band opened for Veil of Maya at Jaxx nightclub. Each member from the band brings a unique dynamic to the table, that when combined creates an amazing blend of modern hardcore punk attitude with heavy metal tendencies. Last month, a new Flaw album came to fruition. But it isn’t much to get excited about. The album, Home Grown Studio Sessions is reminiscent of an early Flaw, but not because of the raw energy, but because of the poor recording.
The band is back to independent recording, and limited releases. They are selling the album at shows, as well as a downloadable version online, and for the most part, it’s dismissible. Not necessarily because the music is terrible, but because it doesn’t seem like any effort was put into it.
